Promotional Assessment

At Holy Heart, student progress is monitored closely through regular assessments conducted twice a week—both written and oral. Teachers continually observe each child’s development and keep parents informed throughout the term. In addition to weekly assessments, more formal evaluations take place during two Terminal Examinations, held in August and February, in accordance with the national curriculum guidelines.

Promotion

Promotion to the next class is based on the performance of the entire academic year. Every student is required to participate in all annual academic and co-curricular activities, and equal importance is given to both.

To build confidence and personality, each child must perform on stage during morning assemblies and annual events. Teachers evaluate students consistently throughout the year to form a comprehensive understanding of their growth.

Assessment Scheme

  • For promotion, 50% of the marks from both Term Examinations are combined.
  • A student must pass all major subjects — English, Hindi, Punjabi, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies — with a minimum of 50% in each.
  • Parents are requested to cooperate with the school to support their child’s performance and progress.
  • Results are released on the dates mentioned in the school’s holiday list.
  • Report cards for students scoring below 50% are handed over directly to parents or guardians.
  • Parents must meet teachers whenever called; failure to do so will be taken seriously.
  • On working days, parents may meet teachers only before 8:30 a.m. to avoid disruption to classroom teaching.

Note: Students who remain absent for any test or subject assessment will be marked as failed in that subject and will not be eligible for positions or awards.

In cases of genuine emergencies, such as serious illness, a valid medical certificate must be submitted.
